22. The holder of a licence that is suspended during a payment period of the amounts exigible under section 93.1 of the Highway Safety Code (chapter 24.2) is exempt from payment of the annual insurance contribution set under section 12 for the length of the suspension. Where the suspension is lifted during part of the period of 12 months for which payment of the insurance contribution was to be made, he must pay, on lifting of the suspension, the insurance contribution for that subsequent portion of time not covered by the suspension, in order to again obtain authorization to drive until the end of the period.
